Friends

 
Last Thursday I got to visit a good friend.  It is always great when we have a chance to get together. The funny thing is we see each other a few times a week here and there, but being able to catch up with her for a few hours Thursday was great! Our kids played and we sat on her sofa chatting with coffee and muffins she had made. She is such a hostess! 

This past fall we woke up at 5AM a few mornings a week and ran together in her neighborhood. {The Couch to 5k is a great program to build up your distance.} It was a perfect time for two mom's to talk, uninterrupted, about our children, relationships with our hubbies, and things we were doing at the moment.  When we stopped running in the spring we went through a withdrawal period from our girl time together! { I can speak for her as she has expressed the same withdrawal, LOL} Unfortunately it was killing me, getting up at 5am, even though that was the only good time for both of us.  I loved the conversation!  I think it is good for every woman to have a girlfriend(s) they can talk to about anything.  It is always good to get another woman's perspective on things.  

Every time I go to her home I am encouraged, not only by her words but her home! She has such a beautiful home! She has worked so hard to make each room beautiful with color, texture and organization!  She is my encouragement to keep my own home looking clean and some what organized, as I admit I am not great at that!  I am a bit of a slob, I am not sure if my husband would agree to a bit of a slob, or the worst...No Comment. ha ha!  My joke is, when I am still in my pajamas at 10AM , TV on, toys everywhere and kids running around like wild things, My girlfriend is knocking on my door.  She has seen me at my best, ha ha, and we are still friends! She is great! Sometime in the future when I am more established with my blog I hope to do a post on her home.  She has such style and coordinating a room with balance is a gift she has among many others!  

Since I did not ask her for her permission to use her name in my blog we are leaving her mysterious except to my mother who knows everything about me. {smiles}    

Friends are a great thing to have!
