Bags and the Un-picnic

After I posted about the Thirty-one yesterday, my husband said, why don't you show the bags you make?  So I thought, you know what, why not!  I do love the bags I make and everyone else always has something nice to say about my things.  Here are my most recent projects:

2 clutches/gift envelopes, drawstring bag, gathered bag & my beautiful sister

medicine bag

waterproof beach bag

The Clutch/Gift Envelopes were a tutorial by Emily @ Jones Design a few months back and I loved them! I downloaded her free pattern but noticed it was too small for a check or an Amazon print-off gift card, without folding them.  So I made my own size, keeping her cute scallop on the flap.  I made her pattern larger, making a  5 1/2 in. x 4in. envelope and they are perfect for bigger cards. Someone even said you can use it as a clutch.  To get her tutorial click here.  I even went a little further on one of them, adding batting and sewed in a quilted look.

The Drawstring bag keeps my daughters small toys for when we go away.  And the gathered bag was a gift I made for my sister.  Also I made her a birthday card with a flower pin which she decided to pin to her bag and it looks really good.

Next you see the medicine bag. "A medicine bag?" you say. Well, I have allergies and take a few medicines for it, so I decided to make a pretty little bag to keep them in.  You could use it for make-up too.  Since it is already in this cute bag you can toss it right into your luggage when you go on vacation!  As well as the beach bag, it is 3ft x 3ft x 4 1/2 in. water proof bag that can hold a ton of stuff.  I made this with duct tape and vinyl table clothes. This is great for the wet stuff, I just throw it right in!  It holds so much that you are not carrying a lot of bags, just one.  Another great thing about this bag is the straps are a nice width that they do not dig into my shoulder when there is a heavy load inside.

I hope you enjoyed me sharing my bags with you!

Before I go I want to share some of our pictures from our Family Un-picnic we had last Friday. It was a great time and a fun night out with the family.

ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND!
