God is Love

Memories are a wonderful thing and even more wonderful if you can capture them on video! This video below is my Gram and Liora, April 2009, only a few months before her struggle with cancer would be over. The picture was in the yard with Johnny Easter Sunday. I am writing this because tomorrow will be 2 years she has been gone, but I know the sun will shine and it will be a beautiful day.  She was such a beautiful lady, as my grandfather says a lot (he means inside and out, truly truly). Her memories are kept in my children's hearts with pictures, videos and stories.

There are days that are hard, but I always smile when I think about her and the stories we had together.  Hot tea, Wheat Bread with peanut butter, honey and raisins was what she called her energy bar. Her Jars of buttons and stacks of fabric.  Nap time for just 15 minutes for a little more energy in the afternoon.  Her dainty jewelry, always dressed in Blues and Browns(Neutrals). Dancing in the kitchen and through the house to old banjo playing, country music.  Adventures in Odyssey while she made dinner, I love Mr. Whittaker, he was the male version of grandma.  Manicuring her nails and always making them look so pretty.  Movies we watched,Anne of Green Gables and A House Without A Christmas Tree.  If i would wake up real early i would see her in the sitting room kneeling on the floor beside the blue wing chair with her bible open, praying. She did it every morning.  She had a heart for God! I love you grandma and miss you very much, but I am so happy to have such a wonderful family that loves the Lord and we are all so close together.  Today this is what is on my mind and it is bittersweet because I know she is with the Lord yet she is greatly missed.  I am so blessed to have my mom who is such a great Grammie (mimi) to my kids and gives them all the love a mimi can give. <smiles> Thank you Mum!

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9
